Math with Carl

How I teach

Make sense of it. Then make it yours.

Good tutoring is not a shortcut around thinking. It is a patient guide into the part that felt out of reach.

I work with high-school and college students in Math and Physics, starting with the exact point where the confusion began. We slow down enough to name the idea, then speed up with practice that builds confidence instead of dependence.

01

Start with the idea

Before reaching for a formula, we ask what the problem is really describing.

02

Practice with purpose

Each example has a job: spot a pattern, test an assumption, or make the next step visible.

03

Build independence

The goal is a student who can explain their reasoning and start the next problem with a plan.

A note for parents

Progress is more than a higher score.

It is the student asking a better question, checking their own work, and feeling less intimidated by the blank page. Sessions are structured around those durable wins—and the grades have a better chance to follow.
